Northport ride, 41 miles

We got this route out of an old book, "Touring New England by Bicycle" by Peter Powers (1991), and modified it a bit with information from the 2004 and 2005 Maine Bike Rally's Island Hopper Expedition out of Belfast. We started from Camden, on quiet inland roads.


 We were charmed
by the Bayside
section of Northport
-- cute cottages,
small pleasure boats,
a swimming dock,
and no stores at all.
Heading south out of Bayside, Shore Road along West Penobscot Bay was a highlight.
