Dec. 30: Bretton Woods opened its Stickney trails, across Route 302 from the Nordic Center and the Mount Washington Hotel and the trails we'd skiied the previous two days.
We zig-zagged up XC trails on Mount Rosebrook (whose face is the downhill ski area called Bretton Woods) and, after crossing a few of the downhill slopes, reached the Top o' the Quad Restaraunt. Many downhill skiers are surprised to see XC skiers who didn't take the chairlift.
We bumped into
Rick's former neighbor Tom
at the Top o' the Quad.

The Mount Washington Hotel is in the clearing below.
Daylight was fading fast when we got back to the Nordic Center, and a dog sled team was heading out by the Mount Washington Hotel.
