Saturday, Sept. 24 -- Crowley Lake out-and-back from Mammoth Lakes -- 36 miles
Joyce,
Arthur,
George
a predecessor of Mammoth Mountain ski area,
was installed here in 1938.
Our destination was Tom's Place.
I liked the
blueberry
pie,
and the
taxidermy.

It was smooth sailing on the way back,
but clouds were gathering.
The last three miles into Mammorth Lakes,
we got rained on.
But by the time we changed into dry clothes
and had lunch, the sun was out again.
We headed into town and checked out Oktoberfest at Mammoth Village,
complete with chicken dance and keg toss.

We walked up to Canyon Lodge
and back down on Lake Mary Road Bike Path.
Crowley Lake Drive
Rain clouds blew in over the mountains
on our left.
Blue sky

Some of the group rode farther, to a cafe
called Pie in the Sky.

Arlen was in heaven.

Dave was in
Gene Simmons
mode.
