Sad news: Elias Klotz died (see Descendants of Abraham Klotz).The Shumsk Pages by Howard Freedman (no relation to Lynne's dad's side of the family but likewise a descendant of people from Shumsk) have been moved again. (Note: These pages were moved again in November 2001, to www.sonic.net/~shumsker/shumsk/shumsk.html, and again in May 2007, to http://www.shtetlinks.jewishgen.org/Shumskoye/shumsk.html.)
There are pictures of buildings, the Jewish cemetery and more from Howard's 1999 visit to Shumsk, images from the Shumsk Yizkor book, and a translation from Yiddish of a 1946 article about the history of Shumsk.
