Cityscapes

The ferry landed at Bayside Place, upscale shops and restaurants. We expected biking out of Fukuoka to be another urban nightmare, but it wasn't as nasty as Kitakyushu. Many of the sidewalks/bikeways had nice landscaping and weren't crowded. This one went past a little sculpture park in front of a conbini (convenience store) where we got rice triangles. The yellow stripe, which is rubbery with raised shapes, is for blind people to feel with a cane; at curbs there's a different pattern.

We went across some small bridges with pretty nice views.
