Sunday, Sept. 10

   We met up with Brenda's friend Peter, and Brian & Linda (college friends and former colleagues of Rick who moved from Worcester to Colorado many years ago), and drove to Brainerd Lake Recreation Area in the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area. We hiked from Mitchell Creek trailhead (10,472 feet elevation) to Blue Lake (11,352 feet) and back.

but only this first day.

Brenda was getting ready for her third trip
to Nepal, this time as group leader
 for Himalayan High Treks.

Later on, Rick & I picked up our rental car.
It turned out to be a white Chevrolet HHR,
and Brenda kept calling it the gangster car.

We went to dinner at Sherpa's with Teri,
 a bike friend who moved from Worcester
to Boulder in 2005.
