After lunch, Simon showed us his favorite things -- the knights'
swords -- in the Schatzkammer
der Residenz Munchen (Treasury in the Munich Residence). The treasures
of the royal family Wittelsbach are a thousand years' worth of priceless
objects crafted of precious metals, gems, ivory, glass and more.

Residence. The mythological scenes here
were the basis of Richard Wagner’s opera cycle "Der Ring des Nibelungen."
Wagner hung out at the Residence with his friend "Mad" King Ludwig II (of
Neuschwanstein
"fairy-tale castle" fame) around 1864.

We walked the long way home, to look at more of the city, but we
