Fussen to Oberammergau -- 35 miles
We biked a few miles to the ticket center in the village of
Hohenschwangau on the lake Alpsee and got time-specific tickets
for tours of the royal castles Hohenschwangau
at 9:45 a.m. and Neuschwanstein
at 12:30 p.m.

The climb to Neuschwanstein was tougher, because we had to pass a
horse-drawn carriage and the road was crowded with pedestrians.

It was really hot, probably in the 90s, and we waited as long as
possible on the shady side of Neuschwanstein for our tour time, people-watching
and listening to tourists speaking many languages.
